Happiness Project #14

The Happy Things Project continues.  Each week I try to post 3 things that create happiness in my eternal Now. There will be apparent repetition but Now brings new and unique happinesses even to what seems old.   Whether we notice or not, moment to moment things are different and new.
1.  The Cone of Confusion
That is what I call the gray, vague, empty space in front of me.  As I sit here contemplating my next location there is no direction, nothing calls to me.  Tunica MS? Jackson MS? Memphis TN?
2.  Fabric Paint
This happened:

This is Ben 10 and some aliens.
3.  Swimming Pools
I went through a period in my life where I wasn’t interested in playing in the water.  I’m glad I got over that.   I’ve spent a lot of time in the pool lately.

Happiness Project #13

I considered skipping #13.  You know, like most skyscraper elevators skip the unlucky 13th floor.  At least the ones I’ve been in seem to be missing #13.   I didn’t consider skipping it for long and you see where I landed on that decision.  Had it been more of a quandary I might have consulted an oracle or flipped a coin. šŸ˜‰šŸ˜‚šŸ˜Ž

Now, on with the show!

1.   Frogs With Tits
They are exactly what they sound like they are.  We had much fun reading the sidewalk clues and discovering the Frogs With Tits on the sidewalk by the Louisiana Supreme Court.
Take a few minutes and checkout Random’s other art at his website.
2.  Gelato
The Italians know how to make some delicious ice cream.  We enjoyed our tasty visit to La Divina Italian Cafe in the French Quarter.
3.  Swimming Pools
I went through a period in my life where I avoided getting in the pool or the lake. Thank goodness I have recovered my senses and can enjoy the happiness of playing in the water.

The plan for today is to take some sunrise photos from the Gulf State Park Pier. Then it’s back to the Hampton Inn for some free breakfast. After eating I’ll load the Jeep and get on highway 90 for the return trip to World Headquarters in New Orleans. There may be stops along the way.

One never knows what will happen. After all, it is real life….Sort of. šŸ™€šŸ˜³šŸ˜ŽšŸ˜œā¤

1.   Marshmallows
After last week’s small tribute to campfires I need to mention marshmallows.  These white, soft, squishy, bouncy, pillows of deliciousness add excitement to any campfire.  They provide multiple forms of entertainment from tasty, toasted morsel to flying, flaming missile.  At only 25 calories each they pack quite a whallop of fun.
2.  Amazing coconspirators
I am blessed with outstanding friends spread across the world.  One is part of my Month in New Orleans Project.  He will be my traveling companion, muse, video and photograph contributor, and source of courage.  He will be able to participate for 3 weeks of the project.
3.  Clean laundry
It is with great satisfaction that I proclaim all the laundry done, even the sheets āœ…. At least for the rest this day.

5 Things Going on in May

1.  Beaching it
I think I’ll be spending a few days looking at the beach live in Gulf Shores AL.
2.  NOLA-my heart home city
This is one of my favorite places to play.
3.  Audubon
I’ll be visiting the Audubon Zoo, Aquarium of the Americas, and Insecterium.  I guess that should count as three for a total of five.

1.   Zoos
I know there is controversy about zoos.  For some animals zoos may be their last hope. A well done zoo also provides a wonderful opportunity to educated people.   I enjoy taking pictures.
2.  Amazing friends
I am blessed with some amazing friends.  My godson is one. He often travels with me and inspires me.
3.  Campfires
Sitting around a campfire feels so natural and soothing. The smells and sounds of the fire and the woods at night heal my soul.  Maybe it’s in our DNA, ingrained after all those centuries of watching the fire.
When I typed this I was sitting by the fire šŸ”„ listing to birds sing their good night songs.  The hummingbirds flit over for one last snack.  It will be dark soon

Orr Park

Orr Park in Montevallo AL is a magical place.

Local artist, Tim Tingle carved fantastical creatures into dead or dying storm damaged Eastern Red Cedars.
There are 30+ carvings along Tinglewood Trail.

If you get the opportunity, it’s definitely worth the trip.  After your stroll you can enjoy a delicious lunch at Eclipse Coffee and Books.   It’s one of my favorite places.  I like their Cappuccinos.
