Happy in the month of thanksgiving.

1.  MBWR

Magnolia Branch Wildlife Refuge is a hidden gem in Central Alabama. We have have a large campsite. The (boathouse)* bathhouse is adequate. There are great bike riding spaces, a nice lake, a river, and we have cell service. It’s a bit remote which is great.

2.  A travel companion

I’ve enjoyed having a traveling companion for the last few weeks. It always seems like more fun sharing the adventure.

3.  New Front Curtains

Share your joy. Tell us something that made you happy this week.

A so begins another awesome week!  Here are some happinesses from my life to yours.

1.  The Cyborg Nomad's Epic Postmodern American Road Trip
Planning has begun for this huge road trip through the contiguous states and Alaska.  It won't be long now.
2.  Lake Life
I'm not sure I grasp lake life. I'm not a lake life liver. I have been touristing lake life a lot this summer. It's interesting exploring marinas. Jakes Fish Camp got me started on this. I went for the live local music.
While looking for RV campgrounds I discovered Waxahatchee Marina and they have live music on Saturdays. I've been there a couple of times. I'm moving to the campground at Paradise Point Marina at the end of August. Maybe I'll figure out lake life. Maybe not. I bet I get a few good pictures though.

3.  Zen is in

It's zen in the main stream pharmacy. Trump threatens fire and fury and it's Zen commercialism. I giggle in wonder.

Share the joy.  If you want to, tell us something that made you happy this week.

It's another fun day to be alive!  Here are some happinesses from my life to yours.

1.  Ollies
Ollies was a lot of fun.  I had never been in one and exploring the merchandise was a grand adventure.  They say the selection changes daily so repeat visits might be fun.
2.  Those days when things just go right
We all have them.  We are in the flow.  We are on top of our game.  Things work out. I love those days.

3.  My toe
I  have been having problems with one of my toes. It started a couple of months ago when the toe swelled up and hurt. I am so happy it is no longer swollen or painful.

1.  Painted Rocks
You know the ones, the surprises from strangers.

Every time I find one a huge grin spreads across my face.  Sometimes I even laugh out loud.

2.  A real shower
After a month of showering in the RV it was wonderful to enjoy the luxury of great water pressure, room to turn and move my arms without bumping the shower walls, and lots of hot water.  WOW! 😃

3.  Last Day at The Eclipse
I will not be back before they close.  Actually when you read this they will be closed.   I’m happy to be here one more time.  This is melancholy happiness but happiness all the same.

Happy Happy
Joy Joy
Another happy blog.

1.  Babies
I almost had a wonderful weekend with my <1 year old grandson.   Talk about fun.  All that beginner’s mind, curiosity, unconditional love, unbridled joy, and newness is awesome.  I can’t help but happy being with someone so fresh from “what is not this”. Maybe I’ll get another opportunity.
2.  OD – The Order of Disorder
It doesn’t get much more Zen than this.  I want to be a boobiesattva.
3.  Answer change
I am usually carrying around at least two cameras. As a result I’m often asked, “Are you a photographer?”   I’m much happier now that I answer “yes”.   That doesn’t mean I’m a good photographer, but I do travel around taking photos on an almost daily basis.  That is one of my primary creative activities.

Happy Happy
Joy Joy
I’m still managing a weekly happy blog. lol Surprises me.

1.  The Happiness Project
It makes me happy I’ve been able to carry through on a weekly happiness post.  I have not been a consistent blogger in the recent past.  👍
2.  Super Powers
I have read some things about people’s super powers.   They often challenge the reader to identify a super power of their own.  After some thought I decided one of my super powers is a general feeling of optimism. I am happy with that.
3.  The Eclipse Coffee and Books
One of my fav places is closing. I’m not happy it is closing.   I will miss the coffees, the espresso martinis, the food, and the atmosphere.  But I am happy that I’m currently living close enough to visit extra  times and try more of their menu offerings before this 16 year old hangout is gone.  I am grateful for all the good times I have had there.

Happiness Project #12

The Happy Things Project continues.  Each week I try to post 3 things that create happiness in my eternal Now. There will be repetition but Now brings new and unique happinesses too.

1.   Marshmallows
After last week’s small tribute to campfires I need to mention marshmallows.  These white, soft, squishy, bouncy, pillows of deliciousness add excitement to any campfire.  They provide multiple forms of entertainment from tasty, toasted morsel to flying, flaming missile.  At only 25 calories each they pack quite a whallop of fun.
2.  Amazing coconspirators
I am blessed with outstanding friends spread across the world.  One is part of my Month in New Orleans Project.  He will be my traveling companion, muse, video and photograph contributor, and source of courage.  He will be able to participate for 3 weeks of the project.
3.  Clean laundry
It is with great satisfaction that I proclaim all the laundry done, even the sheets ✅. At least for the rest this day.

The Happy Things Project continues.  Each week I try to post 3 things that create happiness in my eternal Now. I feel there will be repetition. I feel that each Now brings new and unique happinesses too.  I feel that even though something is a repeat, it is unique and new in them moment it occurs.  Everything changes despite what my senses may be telling me.

1.  Making videos
I’ve been working on various video projects with the 7 year old muse.

  • Skateboarding
  • The secret elephant video
  • Animation shorts

2.  Strawberry farms
I think the best strawberries I’ve ever eaten were from a farm on US 31 in Clanton AL.  The boy and I were returning from our road school adventure and saw a strawberry farm. We turned in, made our selection, and  returned to World Headquarters with a bag of delicious red delight.

3.  Occasionally overcoming the naysayer in my head.
It isn’t that I always win, but I’m trying.  I wasn’t born with the naysayer. It was learned from over cautious authority figures, critical teacher, critical peers, jealous friends, non-supportive parents, and…you get the idea.  Know where it came from helps me defeat the negative voice in my head.

Happy Things #6

The Happy Things Project continues. If things go as planned, once a week I post 3 things that create happiness in my eternal Now. I feel there will be repetition and that each Now brings new and unique happinesses too.

1. Spending time with the people I love
I listened to On Being with Krista Tippet, an interview with Carlo Rovelli. Part of the title was, All Reality is Interaction. One of the grains of science mentioned was, things don’t exist until they collide.  It is in the “colliding” with the ones I love and the ones who love me that I thrive.  Don’t misunderstand, I need vast amounts of solitude too.
2. Daylight Savings Time: Springing forward and longer days
It is so nice to have more day time in the evening.  It’s nice to have more daylight hours in general.
3.  I got to spend another weekend working with friends on their treehouse. It is fun watching the progress.  I think it’s painted barn red now.
